Yellow Pages

Helping establish a mobile strategy at one of Canada's most revered institutions.

Wherecloud helped Yellow Pages Canada overhaul their flagship application on three major platforms and served as their trusted partner as they established themselves on mobile. We are honoured to have been a part of their mobile beginnings.

The challenge

When Yellow Pages first approached us, they had a very small presence in mobile. They had an existing product that both them and their users weren’t happy with, and they wanted to not only redesign Yellow Pages on mobile, but to completely transform their business into one that would take on mobile opportunities head-on.

The solution

We started with the redesign of Yellow Pages Mobile, rebuilding the app from scratch to improve speed and reliability, and redesigning the app to conform to iOS interface standards. We worked with them to introduce new, mobile-exclusive features like category search, that allowed users to quickly find something (a restaurant, for instance) in their immediate proximity.

Redefining local search

We went on to develop a number of secondary applications with Yellow Pages, rounding out their mobile presence and capitalizing on market opportunities.

Urbanizer

A playful concept, allowing users
to browse their city by mood.

Shopwise & Red Flag Deals

These two applications explored how notifications and geo-location could deliver up-to-the-minute deals to shoppers, wherever they might be.

Our edition of the Yellow Pages app was downloaded more than 2.5 million times, and represented almost 30% of all digital searches.
